Oneness and its greatness

                             ONENESS AND ITS GREATNESS
--A P ANAND

God is supreme and omnipotent. He dwells in each particle or the smallest possible amount of grain. He is one but rules over the whole world. In the same way, the leader/ preceptor is one but followers are many to rally behind. We also firmly believe that union is strength or say that power of many lies in their unity and united efforts to show positive results. Many grains together make a solid powerful mass like a rock or a mound etc. Our positive thinking has solved our many intricate problems under this theory of union is strength but the perverted, greedy, cruel and egoistic mind has created awful problems also, though we all know our ultimate result of a fistful of dust due to our ‘karmas’ (deeds). A person without unity is incomplete and may stray from the right path. It is a known fact that a man can live individually, but can survive collectively only due to unity. We are lonely because we create many types of walls around us. An individual remains secluded, alienated, powerless, deserted and neglected till the time he bonds with the society, which is a driving force, to share happiness and sorrows and to stay in reckoning instead of dented one. Any problem in the world is fought untidily, with intellect and perseverance, melts down soon due to the power of oneness. Besides, the universe is one but only a sign and symbol of God, intelligence, purity, bliss and love. The colossal river gets filled up with drops of rain-water one by one and the clouds burst in abundance due to kindness of God. In the same way a building is constructed in ultra compact form, brick by brick by adding soiled cement to grit. We produce several seeds by sowing only one seedling in the moist soil, with the grace of Almighty.

Number “ONE” is very auspicious and strong. It gains tremendous value when we add zeros after it. Think, what happens when we add other digits after it! In the same way, one gets momentum and power to his/ her views/ causes when others also join him/ her and become a great force. It is not simply a symbol of void. Zero indicates a form of love and attraction when we drool around our beloved in its shape.

The religious head keeps a staff in his hands as a sign of authority and for the same purpose a monarch keeps/ flaunts a scepter on ceremonial occasions. A judge in the court strikes a gavel as an authority. A teacher or a head of an institution holds a rod to keep his
                                                                                                                                                     (2)
students under check, control and order. A police officer keeps a cudgel with him as an authority and a protective weapon. A stick (like 1) acts as a support for the elderly, decrepit and weak.

Atom is the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist and has immense energy stored in form of electricity and power on its fission in a controlled reactor. Unfortunately, some perverted minds, in anger and revenge, used it in the form of atom bombs dropped in Japan in August, 1945 causing a great loss of human life and material destruction. Most of the people in Japan are still maimed, handicapped and have congenital defects due to devastating radiation effects and other health hazards. Please mind it that negative thoughts produce negative results.

A flame is one that spreads light all round. We have two eyes and two hands that are worthy enough. Our heart keeps many secrets intact of many and is a symbol of love. Our two legs cover thousands of miles in our life time and in the same way our pen writes countless words, good or bad, in our life. The whole world is descendant of Adam and Eve but some are exceptional with particular qualities/ concept like Mahatma Gandhi who was an icon of precept of truth and pioneer and pacifism of non-violence in the whole world. Likewise Lord Krishna was an endear/ cynosure of all being a figure of love and attraction.

Humanity is one comprising of and based on the strength of many men implying unity in diversity due to positivity. United Nations Organization (protective umbrella like God) is the one comprising of 193 nations’ strength for their safety and welfare, legal and legitimate rights. The thoughts, discussions, decisions and rules/ regulations passed here based on marvelous experience and character of members are transforming, uplifting and beneficial for justice. Someone has rightly said and considered that it is easy to keep 386 eyes of members on the events united in their endeavour to tackle their problems/ quandaries. It is like weaving a worthy fabric with the use of many fluffy fibrous slivers.

Lord is manifested in many forms and pranks. The sun, moon, earth, sky, ocean and all foliage etc. are His manifestations/ reflections. The sun is one but many souls soak themselves in its spray of sober/ serene rays to get vitamin- D which is good for our bones
                                                                                                                                                               (3)
and teeth and to sublimate themselves and to enhance our mood. Though sun and moon are one, they emit light day and night to the whole world without any discrimination or lethargy. The moon strews its cool rays all round. The earth is one but its inhabitants are many to derive benefits/ treats from this one of the bounties of Lord. Earth has also absorbed and conserved many drops of rain-water for our use. The sky is overcast by many stars which are, like moon etc , Lord’s divine cosmic show (splendor and brilliance) and show path to way-farers by shining and twinkling. The sea is a large reservoir of many precious minerals, gems, pearls and sea-life including facilitating us in transportation.

Our body is made up of six elements viz; fire, water, air, earth, ether and soul. The soul is the driving force in our body but neither it is destructible in any form nor it dies down. It is infinite. The cells are the basic units (building blocks) of our body, about 50 billions, which are continuously changing. The human body also contains 206 bones and 639 muscles. The nervous system works at 320 km. per hour. A person’s heart beats about 37 million times a year, pumping the weight of 300 tonnes of blood a day. Apart, we have got billions of pores in our body covering (skin) through which the skin breathes and perspires to remove sweat. Till this day the medical fraternity has not been able to understand completely the anatomy of our body. When we are diseased, even the doctor says, “I treat but the Lord heals.” Our body system is always under the control of Supreme Lord. Our life span contains many moments and breaths and is full of ups and downs. A team work makes us happy and successful, saps hypertension, loneliness, causes social bond and one gets sense of achievement. It is not cul-de-sac. Loneliness creates pain but solitude is delicious to enjoy the glory of being alone in matured age. A blend of persons with different qualities and mass-support act like a rock and fortress and may, even, shake the corridors of power and change the face of the country.

Our mind remains anxious and distressed like a pied-crested cuckoo which thirsts and longs/ remains patient for the first drop of rain-water. Why our mind thirsts when we know that the river is filled slowly with several drops of rain-water? All are in search of Lord through the chink of their eyes but not faith. There are many devotees of one powerful Lord who, in faith, have lit divine fire in their heart and shed tears of love. They all firmly hold the hem of Lord’s drape for His wings spreading grace. People may opt different paths to reach the same abode of God otherwise remain strayed in vicious circle of birth and death. From eons we believe in the existence of God but some are still busy in search of Him through “God Particle.” Religion is purely based on faith in Almighty God and the only hope for our survival

and peace. We are the growth of Lord’s seed. Choose Him only as your trustworthy refuge. When our hands are open and shake with others, they efface ego and cause unity which is strength. As in a classical string concert, many strings of different instruments produce a lilting and exuberant symphony, in the same way people from different walks of life can produce wonderful results. Pray to God as the results are left to Him depending upon the work and duty which is in our hands. Amen!
