DON’T DIE REPEATEDLY IN LIFE

                   DON’T DIE REPEATEDLY IN LIFE
                                                                          _ A P ANAND
We all know that world is finite and we have to die one day. Then, where is the necessity of suffocating and dying almost every day due to evil events/ circumstances and uncertainties, many of our own making? God, truth and soul are only permanent which never change. Soul is our vital force which should be nourished to enjoy life. World is full of sorrows and obstacles and we need to remove them from our path with our intellect. Life is also full of challenges. Some people accept very hard gauntlets even at the cost of their life. Such people excel and triumph. Those who are weak and do wrongs, their conscious always bites them and they die every now and then though they look existing. We retire from work but not from life which goes on, dwindling and faltering, till the time Supreme Lord decides to decimate us choosing time, place and circumstances etc at His own accord, all unknown to us. Also if one entangles with the longings and cravings of sense objects then also one can be labelled as a living corpse. His luck will tip to either side of life’s scale. On the other hand, the thrifty and wise people delay/ put off the early death through so many ways. They are quick in their resolve and have immense resilience. It is seen that many so called saints accumulate a lot of money and property and leave the same behind without making proper use of the needy. They don’t earn good name and their life is also considered as a living dead. The curses of people make their lives worse than death.

Those who make important decisions of life in haste or use sarcastic language or commit frontal attacks on someone without thinking about the consequences repent later on. The waves of violence rise in our mind just like the high tides rising in the sea and subside themselves due to some natural forces. Also those who do not take care of their health and are grave sick, lead miserable and fractured life, with incurable diseases, like a dead person throughout life. They may become liability for someone.

Under the above said circumstances one has least taste of life. It is desired that one should have qualities like sanctity of life, human values, universal brotherhood, resilience, fortitude (strength of faith), determination and control of senses, loyalty and no desire for any reward.

Those who live life fully control their emotions, depression and swinging of mood are optimistic. Even on failures they derive solace from the fact that, ultimately, it is the will of God which prevails but they have to use their intellect and discrimination while deciding any matter. They take pussy-foot forward in their actions. They know the value of love which is counter to hatred and violence. Love enhances peaceful life and is a must to maintain cordial relations. Life is a gift from God depending upon our ‘karmas’ (actions) and His mercy thereon. Love, necessarily, needs no language. It can be expressed through gestures, mentally and physically. Ego is dreadful phantom (ghost) to destroy love. It should be exorcised at the earliest possible. People with such qualities are not sycophants. They don’t demand glory for self but earn it with sincerity and hard work being down to earth personalities. They become high-flyers/ exemplary and often dice with death to derive useful purpose, bring laurels for the nation and prove their mettle. Those who help the poor and needy never die but remain alive even after death. Their names are etched in golden words in the annals of history. Saint Kabira said, “Chah gayee chinta mitti, manva be-parvah; Jako kuchh na chahiye, so jag shehnshah”(one who has no desires, has no worries and he becomes mindless; one who wants nothing, he becomes Crowning glory and Grandmaster in the world). When we surmount our worries and vices we gain peace and pleasure. One can cite many names and examples of brave people with resolve but, unfortunately, the space is short enough.

If you ever visit crematoriums and burial grounds you will get palpable (touching) feelings. You will see the end result, turning to ashes (or mixing of body with earth/ soil), of earlier strutting and full of egoistic body consumed by engulfing with blazing fire and dazzling ambers. Also that its vital force, soul, has shifted elsewhere.

With the above sizzling scenario one is bound to ponder as to why we should lead miserable life and not enjoy it by mending/ decluttering our ways and make them hassle free. On the contrary we suffer from bipolar sentiments, uncertainties, stress, loss of sleep, loss of concentration, grouchy, doubtful, intolerance, violence and carelessness/ laxity etc.

Saint Kabira also rightly said, “Maya mari na mann marrey, mar mar gaye sharir; Aasha trishna na mari, keh gaye Bhagat Kabir”(we have not decimated our desires and attachments through our many rebirths; also we have not vanquished our hopes and wants).Unfortunately,

the crux of the problem is that we are never satisfied with and careful for what we already have and crave and worry for what we don’t possess.

In spiritual parlance the word detachment from unwanted worldly things and their practice is very much stressed upon. The practice is like dying while living as the aspirant of God knowledge is advised to detach self from the worldly things, which are bondage and hindrance for inner realization, and live a simple life. This way he can reach God and get His blessings. In view of this it is quite true and clear what Kabira expressed in the above paragraph. The learned and blessed people also recognize that Nature at extravagant display is Divine play of God who pervades everywhere and His manifestations show His mighty strength glory and mysteries.

Life is a passion and thus we should live in this spirit. Don’t die in negativities off and on. Live life hopefully, colourfully and purposefully. This is possible only when one’s life has a meld of morals, ethics, niceties, spirituality and humanity. Make the present moment as splendid one and enjoy it. Who knows, whether the future remains on your side or not? Please be mindful that God is not an imagination but Truth/ Reality.
