ADORABLE TRUTH

ADORABLE TRUTH
                                       --A P ANAND
Truth: The more you suppress it, the more it divulges.

Truth means in accordance with facts, morally good, just and reality. Truth is never changeable. It is always stable, spotless, absolutely clean, pure and without stigma. Thus only God is Truth and not a myth or hallucination. Only He is Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer of all insentient and sentient. He only manages their affairs. Our actions in the world are His pranks which are having bearing on our life. Lord is not seen with naked eyes but with enlightenment and awakening. Also enlightenment makes our character strong and ability to discern between truth and false, wrong and right. A person with such qualities is called a sage. Almighty is far away and still so near by. Some one has aptly said that knowing others is wisdom and knowing self is enlightenment. When the results of some actions bear good and sacred fruits it is called truth and righteousness. Padma Purana says that there is no harm in speaking untruth if it protects some one’s life. One must earn credits (Punya) to make one’s present and future life worth for communion with Lord. He should also share his comforts and credits with the deserving persons to beautify their life as well. Such a person should not forget that nothing belongs to us, not even our own body, but all is His and this is Truth.

Truth may be tart, curt and bitter but ultimately leaves sweet taste. Falsehood is liked by some as apparently it seems sweet though the resultant is sour and bitter. It is palatable sugar coated poison. Sometimes we have to suffer a lot by expressing truth and revealing reality but truth being sacred over powers the wrongs. We should not forget as to how much King Harish Chandra had to suffer in life due to preservation of truth and keeping his promise but was finally restored his kingdom and dignity.

Truth is what exists for ever and never changes at any cost. Only God is infinite. His creation is having no certainty. Wealth is finite (Fanaa in Urdu), so don’t boast by possessing it. It may slip away soon from your hands. Health is also not certain if we don’t care for it. Dwindling of the body and ultimately its decimation is certain and sure. It is myth that sun and moon disappear from the horizon for ever. Can anyone predict any- thing in certainty? Even the moment of some one’s death taking place can not be foretold by man. Our life is like a bubble bursting any time. Only Lord knows this hidden truth. In uncertainty many events remain “between the cup and the lips.” The sun and moon provide heat, warmth and cool and this is only truth. It is true that we are the part of Lord Supreme and will ultimately merge with Him but only when liberated fully. Foundation of falsehood is shaky and never stands scrutiny to the realities and acid test. It is considered as a lame duck—feeble and faltering .No doubt, sometimes, sifting the grains of truth from chaff is very difficult.

We can imbibe truth only by controlling/subduing our sense organs otherwise every thing will go awry and the senses may start controlling us. We should assuage our soul with our pure and neat actions. We should always remain under His shelter and loyalty to gain truth and its benefits. We must “pick fragrant flowers” of life without causing pain to self and others. The enlightened never run after the materialistic world. When you imbibe austerity all your cravings for worldly pleasures cease and you seek the Real Pleasure and Truth which lies only in our attachment with the Supreme Lord. This way we lead the life of detachment with no worries of the world and no bondage of relationships. You are bonded only with the Real. The monks use ochre/saffron colour for their attire which indicates their detachment with worldly affairs.

Truth always prevails upon falsehood. The one who is attached with the Truth and acts judiciously in life is not even bruised but thrives on and on. We should pray and endeavour to hold His hand to enjoy all the privileges of heaven and earth. Lord Krishna sided with the truth and righteousness in Mahabharta war. It is to be recalled that the war between Rama and Ravana was of rights versus wrongs where the former prevailed. Rama was an embodiment of righteousness, propriety and truth and that of Ravana of
devilish, wrongs and uncontrolled senses. Those who tread the path of perseverance always reach the pinnacle of life.

We should not make nefarious plans which displease Him and are openly exposed to Him for He is omniscient otherwise we have to face the dire consequences. Falsehood haunts the perpetrator day and night. Please do not play tricks with the Lord or act God as He may snub you through calamities with ire.

Only Lord has the right and power to create and destroy us at His will. He has not delegated these powers to any one else. All are equal before His eyes, rich or poor of high caste or low caste .There is no discrimination of any kind.

Please do not forget that whereas the West have gained a lot materially but suffered in spirituality, real education for the betterment of humanity, social life and health, the East have gained or suffered contrary to it. So we should tread our path wisely.

The Indians believe in the motto of “ Satya Mev Jayte” (Truth will prevail). That is why these words are imprinted on their National Emblem. On July30, 1956 President Dwight D. Eisenhower of USA got the phrase “ In God We Trust” officially approved for American currency. Since then these words are considered as motto of USA. The dignitaries, almost every where, take solemn oath at the time of swearing- in ceremony for high office in the name of Almighty God to uphold the dignity, truth, rights, equality and morals of their respective countries. The Hindus and some of their denominations, while taking bier of the dead person for the cremation, chant “Ram Naam Sat Hai” (there is truth only in Rama’s name) but it is a tragedy and travesty that they shudder to chant the same words at other occasions. We also say, “Truth is thy name O Lord”.

Finally, you are on the right track of truth, reality and righteousness if you have understood and fostered what is said above as these are humble and godly attributes leading to platonic love towards God. “OM TAT SAT” (Supreme Divinity is only Truth).
